Genotyping error detection in samples of unrelated individuals without replicate genotyping.
OBJECTIVE Identifying genotyping errors is an important issue in genetic research, yet it has been relatively less studied in samples consisting of unrelated individuals. In this article, we consider several models of genotyping errors, which were originally proposed for pedigree data, for unrelated population samples with single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotype data. The mathematical con...

The identification of genotyping errors is an important issue in mapping complex disease genes. Although it is common practice to genotype multiple markers in a candidate region in genetic studies, the potential benefit of jointly analyzing multiple markers to detect genotyping errors has not been investigated. In this article, we discuss genotyping error detections for a set of tightly linked ...
متن کاملMolecular Detection and Genotyping of Toxoplasma gondii from Clinical Samples
Over the past two decades, molecular diagnosis of toxoplasmosis, which is based on the detection of T. gondii DNA in clinical samples, became an indispensable laboratory test. This method is independent of the immune response, and depending on methodological approach, may facilitate more accurate diagnosis, especially in cases in which inadequacy of conventional methods is faced with deteriorat...

متن کاملGenotyping of Chlamydophila psittaci in Human Samples
Chlamydophila (formerly Chlamydia) psittaci genotypes A, B, C, and a new genotype most similar to the 6BC type strain were found in 10 humans with psittacosis by outer membrane protein A gene sequencing. Genotypes B (n = 3) and C (n = 1) are endemic in nonpsittacine European birds. These birds may represent an important part of the zoonotic reservoir.
